KSC President Anne E. Huot's e-mail to campus community following World Series incident
November 5, 2013
Dear Campus Community,
As concerns circulate about the disturbing behavior that occurred after the Red Sox World Series and during Pumpkin Festival by select students and the many visitors to our city, I want to be clear that this kind of behavior is unacceptable. As you know, these actions do not represent the greater student body. Keene State students contribute in important, positive ways to this community, and deserve to be recognized for those contributions.
The individuals who are responsible for damage on our campus after the Red Sox win will be held accountable in accordance with our student code of conduct, and they may face criminal action. We currently have some credible leads and will continue to follow up on those.
As Keene State employees, we are each an important part of the Keene community. You contribute to our community in very important ways – thank you for your hard work. As you interact with our students in particular around this issue, I encourage you to use that interaction to help our students learn and grow. This is an opportunity to empower them to speak up for the stewardship of our campus and neighborhood communities.
I have reinforced these messages in an editorial that was submitted to the Sentinel.
Respectfully,
Anne E. Huot, PhD
President
